MCK has developed over the past thirteen years a knowledge and expertise in designing prestige dwellings that has been awarded and acclaimed by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, the Institute of Interior Designers and the Australian Design Council.

MCK has a portfolio of commercial and residential projects with a specialisation in one off detached houses of a high quality finish and detail that is responsive to context and client brief.

MCK has experience in multiple dwelling residential projects including a 27 unit development in Chippendale and six affordable housing units for Waverley Council.

MCK was part of an architectural team including TZG Architects and Lahz Nimmo Architects planning and designing housing in Willoughby Market gardens for Landcom.

MCK is experienced with working in many districts of Sydney including the councils of Waverley, Pittwater, North Sydney, Marrickville, Leichhardt, Randwick, Willoughby & Woolhara.

MCK has developed a responsible approach to providing environmentally sensitive buildings that address and incorporate ESD principles, that are energy smart and water sensitive.

MCK is experienced in prestigious coastal projects with a track record that has attracted recent clients on the north and south New South Wales coast as well as Sydney’s beaches and harbour.

MCK has a solid experience in designing for heritage sensitive areas. This has been applauded by local Sydney councils including Waverley Council who have engaged us to design some affordable housing in the Waverley/Randwick area.

MCK is experienced with working outside the Sydney metropolitan area, with projects in Milton, Berry, Tamworth, Mudgee and Blueys Beach. We also work internationally with a penthouse apartment in Bangkok,Thailand.

MCK is a team of young and highly accredited professionals that collectively offer a rich knowledge and experience in the design of single and multiple dwellings. The team is proficient in the necessary technical and management skills to take a project from conception through to final construction. The office is equipped with state of the art computer aided drafting and image producing technology, with a pride in the standard of design presentation and documentation.

Directors

Rowena Marsh

Graduated from The University of Sydney in 1994 with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours 1), and the Sir John Sulman Medal for Design. Worked with James Grose, Jahn Associates, Daffodil Interiors and Danny Venlet in Sydney before travelling to London in 1990.

Worked in UK for Pierre D’Avoine, Trevor Horne, Zoka Skorup and Phaidon Press. In 1992 was part of Australian Archaeological Institute team at Torone, Greece.

Since graduating has worked with Engelen Moore and with Richard Goodwin before forming partnership with Mark Cashman in 1995. In 1996 held part-time design tutoring position at UNSW.

Formed partnership with Steve Koolloos in 2004.

Mark Cashman

Graduated from NSWIT in 1986 with a B.Arch (Honours 1), the NSWIT Medal and Board of Architects Prize. Worked with Phillip Cox, Burley Katon Halliday & Graham Jahn in Sydney and in London for CMWP, CFMT & Trevor Horne.

While in London receiving a Diploma in Professional Practice and ARCUK registration. In 1990 was part of Australian Archaeological Institute team at Torone, Greece. Formed private practice in 1993, and in same year began an Urban Design Masters at the University of Sydney.

In May 1994 formed an association with Curve9, an interior design company. Formed partnership with Rowena Marsh in 1995. In 1998 was registered with the Board of Architects and gained RAIA corporate membership.

Formed partnership with Steve Koolloos in 2004.

Steve Koolloos

Graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1998 with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours 1). Began working with Marsh Cashman in 1997 before travelling to Athens to join the American School of Classical Studies at the Ancient Agora in 1998.

Travelled on to London to work with Fin Architects and Designers, involved in the design, documentation and onsite administration of a number of high profile bars and restaurants in London and Dublin.

After extensive travelling through Europe and Asia returned to Marsh Cashman and Curve 9 in 2000.

Formed partnership with Marsh Cashman in 2004.
