MCK WELCOMES FREYA ALSTON

Freya joined MCK in 2022. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Technology Sydney, finishing her Masters degree in 2019. 

Freya undertook her final year of Masters as a research thesis that examined the performative nature of the international border. This uncovered the border as a mechanism for political propaganda. Freya is passionate about research, critical thinking and a multi-scalar approach to design. 

Freya has diverse experience within architecture including residential design, consultation, and working as a research assistant for academic papers. She enjoys a collaborative approach to design problems and is passionate about the role of design thinking in problem solving and space shaping. Freya enjoys sprint kayaking, from which she recently retired as a national level athlete. Outside of work Freya enjoys home DIY projects and spending time at the beach.
